On the 8th of September 2006 at 15.42 p.m. Moscow time, a Su-30 fighter jet piloted by the crew of the Russian hero, a distinguished test pilot of the USSR Anatoliy Kvochur, landed on the airfield Ramenskoe (Zhukovskiy). The plane took off from Ramenskoe at night - 2.35 a.m., reached the isle of Chkalov in the Far East and made it back. The flight was performed in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the legendary flight by Valery Chkalov of 1936 within the framework of the project "Still higher, and higher, and higher" by the Exposition holding MVK. On August 12 in pavilion 4.3 of KVC “Sokolniki”, the Exhibition Holding MVK organized a presentation of the project “Still higher, and higher, and higher!” The holding presented to a number of visitors and journalists the major components of a large scale campaign which is to be held on September 6, 2006 and will combine two events connected between themselves: “The first exposition in stratosphere” ( at a height of 12.000 meters) and a non-stop flight by Hero of Russia, Anatoliy Kvochur, following the route Moscow- isle of Chkalov( Udd isle in the past) – Moscow on board a plane Su-30.
